Residential Services

Residential services of Beaufort County Developmental Center are offered to provide people with developmental disabilities the chance to experience life on their own with the safety net of the residential staff.Options available through the residential program are considered transitional programs that encourage individuals to progress towards independent housing.

Group homes offer:

  • Family-like environment
  • 24-hour supervision and instruction
  • Private rooms for each resident
  • Possible financial assistance and rental subsidies
  • Planned activities and outings

Apartments offer

  • On-site manager
  • Assistance with skill development
  • Challenge of semi-independent living

BCDC-4-Residential

As with BCDC’s other programs, Residential Services conducts annual satisfaction surveys of both our residents and their families.  The categories addressed in the surveys include: Quality of Services, Professionalism/Experience of Staff, Physical Environment/Facilities, Personal and Family Involvement, and Changes that would enhance the quality of the Residential Program services.
